Edmonton Gets Screwed

Rude, crude and wonderful, Edmonton gets screwed and how, in the Screw You Revue, brought to you by the tucked penises and clever minds of Lady Winifred and Miss DiDi Panache.

Even though I got to see the show at a noon showing (and really, drag at noon is as wrong for the audience as it is for the queens), I incredibly enjoyed this hour-long politically-incorrect parade of abuse, interaction, and so much humor. What a nice way to start the day (and Edmonton's drag Coronation weekend). These are two incredibly talented performers, and their chemistry on stage was undeniable.

I can only imagine what they say about us behind our backs because they sure don't pull any punches. Race, infirmity, sexuality, Germans with big bongs and bigger dongs, the hellhole of Winnipeg and its queer neighbor Saskatchewan, and their fantastic back story of a shared husband are all fair game in this revue, and this reviewer couldn't have been more pleased.

I can't wait until October when I have the chance to see these native New Yorkers on their own turf (and if you're in the Big Apple, get to the Duplex Oct. 12!).
